Terms of use

1. What Decades is — and what it is not
Decades is an educational and personal-record service for preventive health, built by a doctor. It helps you keep track of your own numbers, understand your risks in plain English, and ask better questions of your own physician.
Decades is not a medical device. It does not diagnose any disease, prescribe any medicine, or replace a real doctor. The risk scores we calculate are estimates based on research — not certainties. The library articles and AI Coach answers are information to think about, not orders to follow.
If you are in a medical emergency, please call your local emergency number right away. In India that number is 112.
2. Who can use Decades
You must be 18 years or older. When you sign up, you confirm that you are.
3. Your account
Please keep your login secure — anyone with your password can see your health record. Please type in honest information about yourself; if the data going in is wrong, the numbers coming out are wrong too. Misuse of the service (scraping with bots, harassment, trying to break things on purpose) can lead to your account being closed.
4. Is Decades free?
Yes. The Decades app is fully free to use. There are no monthly subscriptions and no paid plans. The only thing you can pay for inside Decades is Decades Care — our one-off concierge service where a real doctor reviews your records and writes back to you personally. Decades Care is a one-time payment per review, not a subscription, and slots are limited.
5. About the AI features
The Decades AI Coach and the Lab Decoder run on top of Google's Gemini API, which is the smart language model we use behind the scenes to write the replies. We do not control how Google's model works internally. Google's free-tier policy may use submitted content to improve their models, so please do not paste anything you would not want remembered — full government ID numbers, very personal details, that kind of thing. We show you a friendly heads-up before each AI feature.
Replies from the AI are generated text. They can be incomplete or sometimes wrong, and they should not be the basis of any clinical decision.
6. Data and privacy
See our Privacy notice for what we collect and our DPDP notice for the India-specific rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. The legal “as is” bit
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we cannot promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any specific medical purpose.
8. The legal “not our fault” bit
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseen losses caused by your use of Decades. Our total responsibility is capped at whatever you paid us in the previous 12 months — and since the app itself is free, this will usually be nothing.
9. Changes to these terms
We might update these terms. If we make a meaningful change we'll tell you inside the app. Continuing to use Decades after that counts as agreeing.
10. Which country's law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes go to the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana — without taking away any consumer protection you have under your local law.
